AGENCY DISCLOSURE: What do you know?
November 7th, 2007 3:00 PM

For the most part, a listing agent works ONLY for the seller. There are exceptions, but those exceptions must be expressly understood by both buyer and seller, in writing, prior to any confidential information being discussed. As a buyer, before you give personal information to a listing agent, make sure you understand your agency relationship.

Listing agents have a responsibility to be honest to buyers, but not to offer any confidential information about the seller that the seller does not wish to disclose. This does not include disclosures about defects of a property. Those items must be disclosed.

If you have any questions concerning agency relationships I would be happy to explain each as outlined by the State of Michigan. Email me at: deb@c21drews.com or sold@debbeck-youragent.com

If you're looking for standards of practice concerning agency disclosure the 2007 Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice can help you understand an agent's fiduciary responsibilities to both buyers and sellers.

Red Wings: Get Hasek out of the net!
November 17th, 2007 4:36 PM
I want Hasek out of the net. Sorry Dom, but I can't stand it anymore. I hope Hasek pulls a hamstring and Osgood goes back in net. Keep Hudler and Chelios on the ice. Love 'em both.  Hank and Datsyuk are a dynamite duo. Sorry, this has nothing to do with real estate, but I'm coaching from my couch. Maybe a good Donnybrook between Hasek and Khabibulin would take care of the problem! I have a question: How many shorthanded goals can the Blackhawks make before Babcock pulls Hasek and his entire defensive line (Chelios was not on the ice by the way)?
