Coldwater Lake is about 1600 acres.  It has one restaurant, two marinas, and one convenience store.  Each store is accessible by water and has dock space for customers. Coldwater Lake Marina sells Kayot Pontoons, and Malibu Ski Boats and all of the accessories for your on water fun.  Coldwater Lake is about 2.5 hours from Chicago and Detroit. It's about 1 hour from Toledo.

The lake is, for the most part, sand bottom.  The Marble-Coldwater chain is comprised of 6 lakes with a surface area of about 2600 acres. Marble lake has a maximum depth of 60' and Coldwater has a maximum depth of 92'.  The chain has over 42 miles of shoreline and holds approximately 1750 seasonal and year-round homes.

Water drains from the chain in two sperate outlets: The Sauk River and Coldwater River. Ultimately, water flowing from the lake chain is carried to Lake Michigan via the St. Joe river.

The chain has four separate public access sites owned and operated by the State of Michigan. Marble Lake has a county park on the north shore which provides public access and swimming.

The chain is directly accessible from I69 and US12.

The townships that the chain is in are: Quincy, Ovid, Algansee, and Kinderhook.
